“I felt safe in my turtle”-Jaxon, 6,Harewood School
When the big earthquake hit, it was quite scary. I was at school, we had to go onto the court and turn ourselves into turtles. I felt safe in my turtle, then we got to sing songs until my Dad picked me up. I was so happy to see my Mum and Dad and my little brother.

Hey Jaxon
I am sorry you had another earthquake there, I wish I could make things better for you with a snap of my fingers, but….I am just an ordinary person with no magic powers.
What I do have is a heart, and that goes out to you and your family and friends.
I am pleased to know you went in to a turtle and felt safe, your teachers would have looked after you well.
When Dad arrived to pick you up I guess you had a big hug from him and he would have been very happy to see you.
When you saw your Mum and brother did you get more hugs then too?
Please take care. From Ella in Auckland.
Great work doing your turtle so quickly! It helps to keep us safe. It was good to see our Mums and Dads – I was really pleased to see my big kids too!
Well done Jax, very happy to hear you felt safe once you had turned into a turtle & very proud of you for being such a brave wee man.

Jax, You were brave to be a turtle while the earthquake was shaking our ground. It was just the right thing to do. I am very proud of you. I wish I had been at Harewood School and been able to sing songs. Mum, Dad and your little brother would have been so pleased to see you as well.
