‘It was electrifying’- Ashlea, 6, Wainoni School

On Saturday morning when the earthquake started we went to the table.  It was electrifying with all the shaking.  We went to Nana’s house.  It looked miserable.  My TV broke and was not working.  I love my new TV.  My feelings were heart breaking.

‘The Earthquake’- Lota, 6, Wainoni School

Before the shock of the earthquake I was still dead to the world.  My Mum yelled to go outside.  I was feeling scared.  My baby was howling.  When we were outside we quickly packed our bits and pieces and went to get Dad.

‘We were petrified’- Amira, 6, Wainoni School

When the earthquake came we scurried downstairs and hid under the table.  We were petrified.  We had to make sure that the earthquake was gone before we went back to bed but I was still fearful.  I went back to sleep later.
