‘Major Earthquake’- Shianne, 11, Weedons School

Major earthquake

All of the sudden my bed was shaking, I said to mum, “Go away I’m awake”. Nobody was there. Three seconds passed, I was so close to screaming. Then mum came in and screamed, “Shianne! Shianne! Get up! Get up!” So I did, we ran to a big door way where we can fit the whole family.

“Sshhhhhhhh” mum said. 10 seconds later another one hits.

The first earthquake was at 4.35am and the size was 7.1, the second one was 6.5.  My family had no tv for one and a half days.

On Sunday night we had a barbecue one of our friends.  Cindy and her son Taylor came around.  They stayed the night because Cindy’s house is not stable.  When I found out there was no school I was happy because I could stay with my family.  Even now at school and at home I still shake.
