‘Our house was a mess!’-Josiah, 5, Paparoa Street School
I was sitting down at school eating my lunch. Then the earthquake started. It felt like a giant was shaking the whole planet. I had forgotten about the last earthquake but this made me remember. Our teacher came out to see if we were alright. I felt scared. We went over to the field and my teacher checked to see if we were all here. Then my Mum and Dad came to pick us up. We went home. All our CDs and DVDs had fallen down and the shelf had fallen down on the couch. All our toys had fallen over. Our house was a mess!

What a mess you have had to clear up! It sounds as though you must be very busy and have had to help your family straighten things out.
I am hoping that the giant has now gone away for ever and you won’t have to get scared again. Mum and Dad would have been so very happy to see you when they came to pick you up.
Take care now Josiah, you have to be very healthy and fit to rebuild Canterbury again.
