‘My story’-Molly, 5, Wairakei School
I was at school when the earthquake happened. I felt sad but my brother was safe but he started to cry. Then, 10 minutes after my Dad picked us up.
Whenmyhomeshook.co.nz is a website dedicated to helping Canterbury School children overcome the 2011 earthquake by providing a platform where they can openly share their personal earthquake stories and experiences.These stories were turned into a book which was distributed free to all Christchurch libraries and schools. Hosting of the website is covered by oVRcome, a virtual reality app to help people overcome phobias and anxieties.

You were very brave when the earthquake hit. I hope you and your family are safe, and that there are no more aftershocks. I think that it’s so sad to see the state that Christchurch is in. I hope that everything is rebuilt, and that you can go back to having fun, and knowing that you are safe all the time. I promise that everthing willl be alright. Have a great day!
