‘My story’-Emily, 6, Windsor school

I was with Mrs D and my friends Jade and Holly. We ran to the field when the earthquake happened. We sat and we waited for our Mums. I looked after Cadence because she was sad. My friends Will and Lucy stayed for the week. We had no water or power. We went to Grandad in Geraldine and I went to Winchester School for 3 days I was in Room 2 it was fun. I am back in Christchurch and looking forward to going back to Windsor School.

    Dearest Emily
I LOVED reading your story on how you and your friends coped with the last earthquake.
Isn’t it great that you were able to write down your stories on how you have spent your time since that day.
Both Winchester and Windsor were very special schools with wonderful teachers and Principals to look after you.
Today Boston and Nana went to Puppy school. Boston was the naughtiest puppy in the group, he had to have so much time out for barking that I didn’t really hear all of the talking session.
I am looking forward to seeing you and Tom again soon.
    LOVE YOU heaps x x x

    Dear Emily

You had a pretty bad time then a good time.

The earthquake was awful from what I have seen and heard on the tv.

But I am so glad you were able to run so fast to the field and wait patiently for your Mum. Well done for looking after Cadence too when she was sad.

I am sure the kids in Winchester school would have looked after you very well and now you have some new friends.

Good luck back at Windsor School, say hi to all your family, friends and school from me in Auckland.
