Oh mother earth you’ve broken our city and our hearts, you’ve taken our buildings and lives but you can’t stop us rising up stronger than before, and you also can’t stop the “Kia Kaha” spirit of Canterbury.

Dear Cameron
What a beautiful succinct piece of writing. You have expressed so well what has happened in Canterbury and what WILL happen! Well done.
Those of us far from where you are, stand alongside you and despite the many kilometers away the spirit travels swiftly and we feel distraught we can do so little.
Take care of yourself when you rebuild the buildings and lives for you are now the creators of the future Canterbury and already we have seen your strength and wisdom so I am sure you will do a fine job.
