“It was scary!”-Jack, 6, Fendalton School

Suddenly, the ground shook.  I ran to my teacher.  We were outside having lunch.  It was scary! Then Mum and Andrew the gardener came to pick me up. Mum looked terrified and shocked.  Then we drove to Gran’s house.  She had a bit of bricks fallen off the front of her house.  Dad was working in a building in the middle of the Square.  I hoped he was safe.  He walked back home. I gave him a big hug and kiss when he got home.  When it was time for bed, I slept on a mattress on the floor in Mum and Dad’s room.  Our pool is in bits, our walls are in bits too, but we are all safe.

    Hooray Jack!

You are safe, I am so pleased you are with Mum and Dad there too.

When Dad got home I expect he was very happy to see you as well.

Mum will be feeling a lot better that you are close to her now and she will need lots of cuddles, that will be your job!

Please remember Jack that there are people all over the world thinking of you right now and trying to help you mend things there.

Some are collecting money, others are sending things that are needed. Some are writing to people to keep them a bit happier and others are offering a room in their house.

Please say Hi to your family and friends and I hope things get better soon.
