‘Earthquake at School’-Jordan, 8, Wairakei School

When the earthquake happened I was scared. It shook while we were at school paying on the playground. Everyone dropped and covered their heads and the teachers came out to sit us all together. Some of us cried and wanted our mummy. We got picked up early from school and found broken things and glass when we got home. I helped to clean it up to make things better.

    Hi Jordan

I am really pleased you are safe and well and have written this!

I am so impressed that whilst the shaking was on you managed to get yourself into a turtle. Well done.

Lots of people cried that day and the teachers were very good looking after you.

Good for you helping clear up the house with all the broken things.

Look after yourself and your family, send everyone you know my best wishes.
