“We were safe”-Grace, 12, St Pauls

Last Tuesday during lunch time all of the girls in my class were inside getting changed for sport after lunch we were in the class room that was about 10 feet away from the catholic basilica then the class room was shaking like crazy it was 10 times more scarier than the 7.1.

We were all screaming and we were afraid that the basilica would fall on top of our class room we all just sprinted to the door faster than we have ever run before falling over about three times tripping down the stairs and onto the field I’m safe I watched the basilica fall the dust and smoke was so thick you couldn’t see past it we were all crying with tears of joy WE WERE SAFE.

    Hi Grace

I am so please you are safe!

Wow I bet you did run so fast. It sounds very scarey and I wish there were no earthquakes for you in Canterbury. I don’t know how to stop them though…if only.

Please take care and send my very best wishes to your family and school.
