‘The Scary Disaster’- Hattie, 7, Weedons School
Last week we had a scary earthquake. First I woke up and screamed loudly. Mum came in and said, “Where are you?” I said, “Here I’m right in front of you!” Mum got me and ran in her room. Mum said it was an earthquake. I spewed because I got a shock. After that we had aftershocks. The after shocks are little rumbles. My Dad said “This is fun” in Christchurch we had an earthquake that was 7.1 wow. There have been earthquakes for a week! but we were on holiday. We went to Blenheim. When we got back we had a big shock because we didn’t have an aftershock for a long time! Reported
What a fantastic story Hattie! I really liked the way you included dialogue (speech) and the characters’ thoughts and feelings. Lets hope the aftershocks stop!
I love your story Hattie. I woke up suddenly and got an enormous fright too. It was the most scary earthquake I have ever felt.
