‘Wobbly Earthquake’-Jayde, 8, Weedons School

One Saturday morning there was an earthquake at 4.35am in the morning in Christchurch. There have been really big after shocks. They make big bangs. Some people had to sleep in a hall because their homes are wrecked because of the earthquake. There were chimneys falling from houses. 27 houses sunk into the ground. There were sand volcanoes. Sand raised from the ground. My favourite shop collapsed and sometimes the malls are closed. There were metre cracks on the road. There was a girl who was having a baby when the earthquake happened. And a boy that fell out of his house. One boy got stuck under bricks but no one got hurt. My grandma’s house is trashed but only a vase broke in my house. I felt shaky because the house was shaking. Some of New World’s roof came off but we are allowed to still shop at New World. Some people’s bricks came off.
