“We got a yellow sticker next to the door”- KBLC and SPS, 10, Cholmondeley
On Saturday there was a huge earthquake at 4.35 in the morning. We were at Cholmondeley in Governor’s Bay. It was quite bad in Governor’s Bay and some people were very scared. Some were not. We all went under our beds and then into the hallway but one person nearly slept right through it. But the noise woke him up.
We were all scared right through the aftershocks. There were quite large and some quite small aftershocks. Some staff came. They were Eamonn, Hugo, Kerry, Edwina, Shane and Tammy . Then Eamonn went and looked around the house with Shane. They came back with some hot chocolate. At that time we were all reading a book and were all calm unless there were aftershocks. One person was reading a big book called Percy Jackson. One was reading Zac Power.
Four people went to Carol’s and two people went to Lynley’s while the buildings were checked. We got a yellow sticker next to the door. The respite children went home.
When I read your story I felt very sad for you, but I hope you stay positive.
Good Luck to you and I will pray for you…
