The Terrifying Earthquake-Charlotte, 8, Weedons School

On Friday we went to Hanmer Springs. While I was there in Canterbury at 4.35am there was an earthquake. That earthquake was 7.1 the biggest one in a century and I did not feel it. Mum told me that there was an earthquake and I said, “No way Hose,” so I listened to the news in Hanmer all I could hear was, “Blah blah blah,” earthquake all day long. I got really sick of it after a while. So me and Eliza and Seth went on a treasure hunt for something to play with. We looked near the fire and we found a long bit of elastic so we used it for a skipping rope. After that day we went home when we went past Christchurch. I went nuts I was just like this, “Aggghhh,” I felt really scared at the end. Our pantry was mixed with rice, oil, glass, salt and….. vinegar. Yuck.
