‘It was scary’-Stevie-lee, 6, Hornby Primary School
I was in the bathroom at school with some of my friends when we had the earthquake. It was scary. We run out of the bathroom and outside to where we eat our lunch. All our teachers were out there to make sure we were all ok. After the ground stopped moving we went back to our classrooms with our teachers and they took the rolls to make sure we hadn’t lost anyone. Then I waited for my mum to come and pick me up.

You have been very brave in these times and I am pleased to see your writing on this website. It helps tell us what it was like when the big earthquake came.
Your teachers sound as though they are very good and caring people looking after you all at school.
I bet it was great to see Mum when she came to pick you up and I am sure she would have been very happy to see you too.
Take care of yourself Stevie-lee I am thinking of you lots and hope you stay well and strong.
