“The shaking was pretty scary”-Crispin, 9, Discovery1 School
When the 2011 earthquake struck I was at school, reading a book in the library corner and pretty much the first millisecond I was under the table. The shaking was pretty scary. After that the police took my school onto the street and then my whole school went to the Botanic Gardens, not for a play but for a wait-for-your-parents-to-pick-you-up, mind you, my parents were on the street where the police took us to. My street was liquafacted so my family stayed at my grandparents for a few days.
Hello Crispin
It sounds as though you are a pretty swift person to get under the table so quickly, well done, best place to be when the shaking started.
I can imagine it was a scary experience and everybody there would agree with you and I am so sorry that you had to go throught that.
It was great the police were so close by and your parents too.
I had never heard of liquifaction until last September but it seems to be everywhere. I hope your house recovers soon but more importantly you and your family and friends.
Millions of people all over the world are keeping an eye on the Christchurch/Canterbury region of NZ, and this morning on the TV an article from USA talked about how in awe they are of you all there and how your courage is showing through…and I agree with them!
Good on you Crispin.
Taks care from Ella in Auckland.

Dear Crispin,
I am so sorry that your street was liqafacted. I hope your family is safe. Did you finish the book that you read? And by the way, do you know about that wizard dude on the tv all the time?
