“That’s a bit lucky!”-Malo, 4, Kindercare Fendalton
I was having a rest when the earthquake happened. I was awake in my bed and the toys fell off the table, I just watched them fall! Some blocks fell onto a bed, but noone was on it, that’s a bit lucky! Then teachers told us to get up and helped us to get dressed, and we waited for our parents to pick us up. Linda said “look whos coming up the ramp” and it was daddy here to pick me up. Daddys car had broken down in the earthquake, but we got a ride in someones car, we hitchhiked to Jeffreys Road and then rode the bikes to mums house! It was fun
Hi Malo
Oh dear, poor old toys falling off the table. I hope you will be able to play with them soon.
Your teachers were very good to look after you so well to keep you safe.
I am sure Daddy would have been really pleased to see you, what a shame about his car.
Mum would have been happy to see you back as well, I expect there were lost of hugs that day.
Take care and send my best wishes to your family too.
From Ella in Auckland.
Hi Malo
I’m real glad there was no one in that bed too!
Your teachers looked after you well and everyone would have been so pleased to see that no blocks had fallen on you!
It was certainly an adventure, you are really brave!
Love you always Malo
