‘It was a bumpy ride home’-Ephraim, 8, Hillview Christian School

I was in the library when the earthquake came and the books did not fall on me. all the teachers ran out and left the kids in there. Then we ran out of the library and sat on the field. Then another big one came and then I started to cry. We all prayed and Scottie came to pick us up. I had to sit in the boot with Bailey. It was a bumpy ride home. When we got home mum was in the car then I gave her a big hug. The nextdoor neighbours came and us some chocolate cake and just juice that was yummy. The house was messy and we dug a hole in the garden. I felt sad and scared.

    Kia ora Ephraim

I am glad the books did not fall on you in the library when the earthquake came.

Praying is good at all times and especially in a crisis. When Scottie arrived I guess you were all pretty pleased to see each other.

Mum would have been so happy you got home safely and what a treat to have chocolate cake and juice, yum!

Please take care and all the best to your family too.
