“Are you ok”-Blake, 6, St Mark’s School

I went on the field and I felt something shaking and it was an earthquake. Then I went into a Turtle, Mrs Fisher said “go down” and she put her hands on her head, she was scared. Then we went to the safest place on the field and my brother Trent came to me and Trent said “are you ok”, then I started crying. My mum was at the pool with my little sister, mum went to nanas house to see if they were ok. Mum picked us up from school, the road was bumpy. There is a big crack at school. It was scary, I really wanted mummy.

    Kia ora Blake

You are good to get into a turtle when you felt the earthquake shaking all about.

Mrs Fisher was right to put her hands on her head too. Lots of adults got a bit scared too but that’s normal when the earth is shaking a bit too much.

I am so pleased you went to the field, isn’t it great that Trent was with you?

Mummy would have been very happy to see you and she was ready to hug you I bet!

Mum’s are great people to have when you fell a bit scared. I hope she is feeling well now.

Please take care of yourself Blake, you are a real champion to come through this, because that’s what champions do!

We are thinking of you all the time, please send my very best wishes to your family, friends and school.

    Dear Trent,
Glad to hear that you’re safe. The earthquake would have breen pretty scary. Is Blake OK? Hopefully, there won’t be another earthquake. You’re lucky that you don’t have to go to school.
