‘My story’-Josiah, Avonhead School
On Tuesday it was our fish & chip day at school just as I was finishing my lunch a 6.3 earthquake struck. It was the second in 1 year.
Whenmyhomeshook.co.nz is a website dedicated to helping Canterbury School children overcome the 2011 earthquake by providing a platform where they can openly share their personal earthquake stories and experiences.These stories were turned into a book which was distributed free to all Christchurch libraries and schools. Hosting of the website is covered by oVRcome, a virtual reality app to help people overcome phobias and anxieties.

Thank you for your message on this website.
It is good to hear from you and I imagine you must have been truly shocked with the earthquake. After having had one already this one was even more of a shock.
It is not fair that you have had another one, I wish it wasn’t so and I know a lot of people who feel the same.
During this time now Josiah I want you to know that many, many people all over the world are thnking of you and trying to help from far away.
I shall be thinking of you a lot in these times.
