When the earthquake happened I was not home I was at my bach in Kaikoura. When I got back home, oh my God! I was saying ‘Help!’ in my head. My drawers had fallen over, things were smashed and books went everywhere. At least our house was ok. I felt very sorry for the people with no houses. Some of my friends could not go in their houses because the earthquake had made them unsafe to live in. The aftershocks are a little bit freaky.
