30 seconds—that was how long it was and 8 kilometres deep. My Dad got out of his bed. He thought he was heading to the door but he headed to his bedside cabinet. He bumped into it and then bumped the wall. When it stopped my Mum came in. She was sounding very scared.

I don’t like earthquakes because they are scary.

In my kitchen was a very big lot of mess. My kitchen was a mess and there was glass everywhere.

Earthquakes are scary and lots of vases fell down and it was very scary. I was screaming. I didn’t know what was happening. I said to Mum, “Mum, this is scary.”
