I would never of liked to be on the pier. It sounded terrifying but great to hear your safe!

What a well written piece of work, you lulled me into the story of an ordinary day at school and the beach trip that was not looked forward to and you described the weather so well.

Even mentioning the marmite sandwiches were a nice touch to keep me interested in your story.

Despite your protestations you will have learnt a lot about beach safety and some fun on the boogie boards no doubt.

Good for the teachers that looked after you in such difficult circumstances.

And then I cried when you wrote so fondly of your Dad, and the fact that he almost fainted with his efforts to get to you. What a father!

A long trip home indeed but what a special one… reunited.
