Really enjoyed reading your story about the earthquake! You are great at writing. I am glad you found your toy kitten and puppy. You must have been so pleased. I know your cousin Iris and your wonderful Aunty Sarah and Uncle Steve. I used to live in Christchurch but we have moved since the earthquake like lots of other people. I hope you are happy and having fun. Keep writing! You are very clever and creative.

Jen

Thank you for writing about the earhquake. I am a teacher in Canada. I teach children who are 8 and 9 years old. I know about this website because a friend of my daughter’s is going to University in Christchurch and she told me about it. I hope it is okay, but I am going to read your letter to my class. We get only really small earthquakes where I live in Ontario and not very often. I think your note will help my students to understand what an earthquake is like. I am glad your house is okay.

Gosh you got a shock when you were eating your lunch on that particular day!

How wonderful that Mums and Dads got to the school and could take children away.

At Ella’s house it sounds like a mess with all that stuff on the floor, mlik and and clothes.

All those nights away is a long time and it sounds as though it was quite an adventure with so many people there, did you all have jobs to do?

I love the story of Swan Lake, maybe one day you can get to see the ballet.

How happy you are to have found your toy kitten and puppy and your Zhu Zhu pet.

Take great care of yourself, you are brilliant!
From Ella in Auckland.
